MPFC Series

The range of MPFC medium voltage cells is designed for MV power factor correction applications composed of three-phase capacitors or capacitor banks for medium power factor correction of loads such as transformers, motors, etc...

They are particularly suited in cases where the user needs power factor correction that is easy to install and fast and practical to combine with existing boards, also thanks to their structural conformation being compact and complete boards.

The standard one is composed of a MV cell made with a board with an IP30 degree of protection (it is possible to make the metalwork with an IP55 degree of protection), which incorporates the safety fuses, inrush peak current limiting reactors, capacitors or battery, and the key interlock system.

The power supply is normally through cables from the bottom of the cell, but it is also possible to make them on request. MPFC cells are made for a max operating voltage of 24 kV.

The main accessories available to complete the standard version are:

  • CT to relieve unbalances;
  • fast discharge devices;
  • harmonic block reactors (in this case the ventilation unit is included too);
  • device signalling fuses tripping;
  • capacitive insulators and relative voltage on/off signalling;
  • inspection window;
  • space heater element with humidity gauge;
  • inside light;
  • other accessories on request.

Besides the standard versions, we also make cells defined on specifications and metalwork requested by the customer.

QMT Series

The QMT power factor correction boards consist of a vast range of capacitors banks assembled in metal enclosed or metal-clad board.

There are many types that can be made according to the type of need; in fact, boards can be made and equipped with various items of equipment such as circuit breakers, contactors, disconnector switches, earthing switches, etc...

The boards are floor-standing and have a steel structure. They are divided into compartments and are painted (standard colour RAL 7030).

Each compartment is equipped with electromechanical interlock systems to prevent incorrect operations and has an inspection window. The degree of protection in the standard version is IP 3X with closed doors and IP 2X with open doors, but other degrees of protection can be made on request.

Generally, there is a main circuit breaker at the board entry or a disconnector switch under load to disconnect the entire bank from the supply line. The boards are equipped with lifting eyebolts suited for handling.

Enerlux makes fully automatic boards, equipped with a cos j regulator that governs the various banks according to the reactive power required; each bank is piloted by a vacuum contactor with fuses or by a motorized circuit breaker in SF6 or in a vacuum.

QMT boards may also have banks with harmonic blocking filters.

  • CT and VT for measurements;
  • fast discharge devices;
  • harmonic block reactors (in this case the ventilation or air-conditioning unit is included too);
  • device signalling fuses tripping;
  • capacitive insulators and relative voltage on/off signalling;
  • inspection window;
  • space heater element with humidity gauge;
  • inside light;
  • other accessories on request.

Besides the standard versions, we also take types of boards defined on the customer’s specifications.
